#HackfromHome - an anti-viral virtual hackathon.

We’re giving people a chance to respond with action, working together to improve the lives of everyone affect by the Coronavirus. Our goal is to band together to help communities, patients, and their families better using what we know best - technology.

If possible, these ideas should preserve the privacy of individuals through the use of Personal Data Accounts. For more information on Personal Data Accounts read this.

An app to consolidate individual data to better understand and track symptoms.

An application that enables individuals to connect to their location, wearable and fitness tracker data to consolidate it all into a central location. They can then provide this data to researchers and health organizations. More importantly, they can revoke this data access at any time.

The ability to connect to devices such as smart thermometers and others would be a bonus and make that data even more meaningful to researchers.

The tech to do this is available. Most wearables have API connections and iOS applications can read Apple Health data with user authentication. If this data could be consolidated and normalized, then there is tons of potential — even beyond ending COVID-19.

I’m looking for some team members to help me make this happen!

Hi David - this sounds like a great idea, I think a pooled approach to this is important, my idea is the one word connection point for sharing personal data and access to all these apps. I think there could be some synergies in these ideas which could work well together.

Hi David, really interested in this area. I had an idea to utilise NLP to scrape the web for symptom tracking, perhaps we could discuss? As far as I can tell nobody is talking about a pooled approach to track symptoms.
